This past school year students at Ishpeming High School received the opportunity to participate in a web design class offered through a Michigan State Universtiy extension program. By working with a MSU instructor we were able to receive college credit from MSU. The college credit was made available through Community Ties (http://communityties.us/marquette), a grant that aims to connect youth with their community through technology.

Social networking mediums are being taken advantage of by many different companies in the area to promote their services and products. For example the local newstation, WLUC-TV6, has a Twitter page where their news anchors can write about the job and current news. The Country Village has  Facebook and MySpace pages to promote the Cinema V. There they have a list of movies and the times they play.
