The Kennecott Minerals Mining Co. has proposed building a new nickel and copper mine. There are many people that are against the idea becasue of Kennecott's use of sulfide mining which is a contorversial topic due to it's effects on the environment. The proposal has been named the "Eagle Project" and there are billboards all around the U.P. for and against the mine.
