About IHS

Ishpeming High School, located at 319 Division Street, is currently home to more than 300 Hematites grades nine through twelve. It offers a variety of sports from football to bowling, along with academic classes such as advanced chemistry, woods, and an online class with Michigan State University.
Ishpeming truly values the educational growth of its students as well as their opportunities in athletics. 

 

  
 

Academia

For the past several years, all four Ishpeming schools have received "A" grades on their Michigan Department of Education School Report. Last year, the composite score of IHS on the ACT was 20.8, first in the county. Ishpeming High also tied for placed first in all aspects of the ACT such as science and math. In every category, IHS surpassed or tied the state average score.
 

Athletics

Ishpeming is very proud of their student athletes and coaches. We have won state championships to individual and academic athlete awards. The fight song has been given meaning by the sports offered by IHS. These include:
